BMC chooses the Ghisallo Cycling Museum for the launch of the newest model of bike dedicated to road racing, designed and shared with World Champion Fabian Cancellara.
The design of the Teammachine R, in fact, comes directly from the Teammachine SLR with a reworking put in place with RBAT (Red Bull Advanced Technologies), the same people from Team Oracle Red Bull Racing F1 to understand. So technological research that has evolved beyond cycling and logically includes aerodynamics. Aspect that all high-end bicycles are now confronted with. The advantage, for BMC, as for others before it, is the so-called “know-how” derived from Formula 1 that has allowed for further improvements in aerodynamics. Taking full advantage of the new UCI rules, the revised bottom bracket design optimizes the surface area for cleaner airflow. In addition, the aerodynamic shape reduces the distance between the frame and the rear wheel, helping to keep the airflow attached to the rim instead of separated from the tire.
