Kicking off the first edition of MUMAC Book Week: books and authors at the museum, a series of cultural meetings dedicated to book presentations, to be held in the second week of July. This series of events is designed to promote culture and reading within a museum setting of excellence and will also feature the Ghisallo Cycling Museum on July 12 for the presentation of the book on the Tour de France by Beppe Conti.

– Presentation of the book “111 design places in Milan that you really must discover”

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., author Sara Pupillo presents her book published by Emons Edizioni. This collection explores the most interesting design places in Milan, including MUMAC. To discuss this guide is to view Milan through a unique lens: an infinity of details will help create a vision of an extraordinary city, an open-air museum celebrating one of the most innovative arts of the 20th century: design.

– Presentation of the book “Once Upon a Time of Search and Selection” by Daniele Bacchi
On Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., author Daniele Bacchi will present his book published by Este Editions. The world of work is constantly changing, and finding the right person for the right position is more crucial than ever. The book, written in the form of a compelling novel, explores the modern challenges of the HR role through the eyes of Teresa, an HR manager grappling with a rapidly changing professional environment. The event is part of a series of meetings held at outstanding companies in the area and is aimed at HR professionals and people managers.

– Presentation of the book “The Yellow of the Tour: triumphs and tragedies, secrets and mysteries of the
world’s most important race from 1903 to the present day” by Beppe Conti.
On Friday, July 12, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., author Beppe Conti will present his book published by Minerva Editions. A tale that explores triumphs, tragedies, historical feats, secrets and mysteries of the Tour de France from 1903 to the present day. From Garin to Coppi, from Merckx to Nibali, the book tells the story of the greatest legends protagonists of the world’s most important race. For the occasion, in collaboration with the Ghisallo Cycling Museum, the yellow jerseys of Eddy Merckx (Faema team) and Tadej Pogacar will be displayed, along with historical documents from the MUMAC Archives.

MUMAC – Museo della Macchina per Caffè di Cimbali Group
Created in 2012 to mark the centenary of the company’s founding by Giuseppe Cimbali in Milan, the museum, thanks to the Cimbali and Maltoni collections, is the most important permanent exhibition dedicated to the history, world and culture of professional espresso machines; with more than 100 pieces on display inside the Cimbali Group headquarters located in Binasco (Milan) tells more than 120 years of history and the evolution of an entire sector of Made in Italy, not only from the technological point of view, but also of the design and style of products and customs related to the consumption of the drink. In addition to the machines on display, MUMAC has another 250 pieces available for rotations within the museum or loans worldwide, a book collection with about 1,300 thematic volumes, and an archive with tens of thousands of documents including photos, patents, letters, catalogs, useful for reconstructing the history of the espresso machine. MUMAC produces original cultural content such as exhibitions, roundtables and popular volumes (including the book SENSO ESPRESSO. Coffee. Style. Emotions), organizes educational initiatives dedicated to schools, universities and families, and, through MUMAC Academy, offers courses aimed at industry professionals and coffee lovers.
