The shuttle bus connecting Oliveto Lario to Bellagio to Ghisallo officially started on 1 August.
The shuttle is free for now
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the two municipalities of Bellagio and Oliveto Lario in the previous days: the tourist service will cover some time slots not served by the normal bus line, in particular there will be four additional weekly runs until 8 September and three from 9 to 30 September. In detail, from 1 August to 7 September, the service will be provided on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (including Ferragosto day); from 12 to 28 September on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The shuttle bus has 22 seats. Since it is an experimental service, as emphasised by the two mayors Angelo Barindelli and Federico Gramatica, it is free of charge for the time being.
Experimental project
The shuttle bus will be operated by the company Linee Lecco, the concessionaire of the scheduled service. Among other things, the company has declared its willingness to record the number of passengers transported on the service coupon: in this way it will make data available that will be useful for planning the structural strengthening of Local Public Transport on the Lecco-Bellagio route, with particular reference to the summer period. One of the hypotheses is to expand the service, from next year, with stops as far as Piano Rancio and Monte San Primo. But, as mayor Barindelli had anticipated, everything will be evaluated according to the response of users in this first experimental phase.
