The start of the party for the seasonal reopening of the Museum is set at 4.30pm. We’ll bewaiting for many friends of the Museum, amongst those great champions such as Bugno, Chiappucci and Giovannetti. The season will open also with the arrival of the three iconic bikes of Tadej Pogačar’s 2024 Triple Crown and all the news of the season will be revealed during this event (free entry)
The Madonna del Ghisallo Cycling Museum reopens on 1 March 2025. The inauguration of the 2025 season will include a day full of emotions with the presence of many friends of the Museum, sponsors, institutions. In the opening day will present the book “Le grandi imprese di ciclismo” of Beppe Conti (Graphot publisher) during a dialogue with champions Gianni Bugno, Claudio Chiappucci and Marco Giovannetti and Marino Vigna (at 4.30pm). It will be a truly exciting reopening: between bicycles and champions the Museum will receive on loan three champion pieces to enrich its collection in 2025. The three bikes of Tadej Pogačar, from the Giro, Tour and World Championship will be on display in the Museum collection for all of the 2025 season, thanks to the increasingly close collaboration with Manolo Bertocchi, Head of Strategy and Marketing at Colnago.
Marco Giovannetti, Olympian at Los Angeles 1984 in the cycling time trial team, also
announced his presence and will donate to the Museum his bicycle with which he won the Vuelta a Espana in 1990. A link between past and present: Polti opens a window on his cycling days by donating two significant jerseys from the 2024 season: the pink jersey sponsored by Polti from the women’s Giro d’Italia won by Elisa Longo Borghini and a jersey from the Polti Kometa team 2024, signed by the team’s riders, which will remember in history the important return of the Polti company to the world of cycling. The past of Polti’s cycling history enters the collection with Ivan Gotti’s bicycle used in the time trial of his Giro won with the Polti team.
Many news are already announced, such as the arrival of memorabilia of today’s and
yesterday’s cycling champions as well as the entry of new sponsors such as S.Bernardo, the official water of the Ghisallo Cycling Museum. Other initiatives will also highlight the season, amongst them the valorization of the jersey collections and the organization of numerous cultural events that will accompany the 2025 season, going side by side also with the crucial moments of the international cycling calendar. To continue, the Museum also promotes collaboration with other museums and sports event organization’s, local and otherwise, which takes shape through temporary thematic exhibitions. Everything will be revealed on Saturday 1st March at 4.30pm (free entry).
Next event: Saturday 8th March with the Nicole Cooke Day which offers an in-depth talk on the world of women’s cycling. From 4.30pm at the microphone of Rai journalist Marzio Quaglino we retrace with Nicole Cooke her extraordinary career, the first woman to achieve many goals, including that of sporting fairness. Together with the British champion there will also be many other testimonies from athletes, technicians and organizers, on the focus issues of women in sport.
