From April 30 to May 3, 2026, the Museo del Ghisallo traveled to Stekene in Belgium for an international meeting dedicated to cycling sanctuaries and symbolic places of the sport. A true pact of friendship among institutions united by a passion for cycling and strengthened by the Madonna, Patroness of Cyclists.

The meeting, hosted at the city hall, brought together representatives of the four twinned European sanctuary-museums, including the Notre-Dame des Cyclistes chapel, the Our Lady Church parish church, and the Santuario di Nuestra Señora de Dorleta, located in the province of Gipuzkoa in Spain.

The initiative is part of the museum’s program of international relations and coincided with the 30th anniversary of the recognition of one of the participating sanctuaries, the Our Lady Church. The program included institutional moments and opportunities for cultural exchange.

On June 13, a delegation from Belgium is expected to arrive at the Madonna del Ghisallo by bicycle, covering nearly 1,200 km to reach the Ghisallo in eight stages.
