The perfect book to flip through on top of your coffee table. “Benedette Biciclette” tells the story of the
Madonna del Ghisallo Cycling Museum. It’s a detailed catalog of the various bikes inside the museum, all
within the story of the Ghisallo, the symbolic climb of the Giro di Lombardia, and the story of the Cycling
Museum, which recently celebrated its 10 th birthday.
There are several precious bikes at the museum, including Bartali’s from the Tour de France, several of
Coppi’s bikes, and Baldini’s and Rominger’s bikes from the Hour Record. There’s also Moser’s bike from
1984 and everyone admires Eddy Merckx’s bikes. The collection of pink jerseys at the museum is the
largest and most famous in the world. Among them are several other famous artifacts, from bikes to
memorabilia, all of them coming with a special story that the in-house cycling experts know and share.
Carola Gentilini (museum director) ,Lorenzo Franzetti, and Luciana Rota have written these stories and
information to go along with each piece of history. The most important bikes in the museum are
accompanied by photographs and text by Guido Rubino.
The book was published by Bolis Edizioni, and has a hardback cover and glossy pages that make the
bicycles and historic photos of the Ghisallo Museum shine even more.
This is a must-read for all cycling history fanatics. This book was made thanks to Gino Cervi, researcher
of the series.
